As the Donor Relations Manager, Vanessa spearheads donor communication, individual fundraising and Board initiatives. In addition to supporting the needs of individual donors, she works alongside the Executive Director and Development Manager to create and execute strategic plans for organization fundraising.

She received her M.S. in Urban Policy and Leadership from Hunter College, with a specialization in Nonprofit Structure. Her fundraising background includes work supporting foundation relations, government advocacy, and individual donor networks, with a particular interest in major giving. In her previous role at Humanities New York, she expanded annual appeal revenue, increased cultivation efforts for major giving pipelines, and diversified institutional giving opportunities. Originally from Rhode Island, she lives in Brooklyn with her wife and cat, and is passionate about music, writing, and perfumery.
