Marquis Studios has received a grant from New York Community Trust to pilot the Theater for Early Learner Literacy (TELL) Program at five NYC public schools over the next two years. The TELL program adapts our long-running Storytelling residency, allowing Kindergarten and 1st Grade students to explore fundamental literacy skills through engaging, hands-on theater games and activities. TELL will help supplement schools’ existing literacy curricula in several ways, but the primary focus will be building oral language and enhancing students’ fluency, comprehension and knowledge base.
