Carol Hessler is a former teacher and administrator with the New York City Department of Education, District 75. She served as both an Assistant Principal and a Special Education Teacher, recently retiring after 34 productive years of service. She also worked with the District 75 Funded Programs and the Office of Professional Development, providing workshops and coaching.
Early in her career, Carol had the honor of meeting and working with David Marquis, founder of Marquis Studios. David was a firm believer in, and advocate for, arts education for all students, and Marquis Studios continues to uphold his mission.
Carol's main tenet is that all students can be successful in school and in life. The arts are a powerful vehicle that enhance students’ lives, enriching and supporting their learning. As both a parent of a New York City public school graduate who has found success in the arts and as an educator, she can personally attest to the mission of Marquis Studios: art for all students. Marquis Studios artists also support this mission by building capacity within teachers.
