Amy works at the intersection of music, education, creativity, and community, aiming to create programs and resources that help to reimagine music education for school-age children. She believes deeply in the power of meaningful early arts experiences to ignite life-long creativity. She helmed Carnegie Hall’s music education programs for elementary-age students for seven years, curating and creating multi-media curricula and live and video interactive concert experiences; building partnerships with artists, educators and cultural institutions; and expanding the scope and reach of these programs beyond half a million students and teachers globally each year. Previously she was the Director of Youth, Education and Arts Programs for University Settlement, a large, multi-faceted community-serving organization with its roots on the Lower East Side, where she worked to build an extensive portfolio of programs across Manhattan and Brooklyn and partnered closely with NYC public schools. Amy also worked as a music journalist and is a composer/musician with a focus on improvisation. She and her husband raised their son in NYC and are incredibly grateful for the outstanding education he received in the City’s public schools.
